Blade Show 2018. MKM Knives.

MKM Knives
MIKITA (Maniago Innovation Knives ITALY) - FOX KNIVES, LIONSTEEL, MERCURY, VIPER.

2018 Knife Collaboration of the Year: MKM by Bob Terzuola and Lucas Burnley for FOX, Lionsteel and Viper.

MKM means Maniago Knife Makers and is the natural translation of the name of the local association that groups the Maniago companies involved in the production of cutlery items, that is also the official distributor for these knives.
This association decided to launch this new brand with the goal of increasing the notoriety of the products Made in Maniago with a project of cobranding with the local manufacturers.
They decided to start with the sport/outdoor knives market that is, at the moment, one of the strongest in the Maniago industry.
Considering the proximity and the importance that mountains had and still have for the area, MKM decided to use as logo a spiky line that represents the skyline of the mountains and as payoff the phrase “CLIMB THE EDGE”, a word pun connected to the mountains that means these products want to place themselves on top of the market going over the limit of quality and recall the knives with the word EDGE that represents the cutting edge.
In the meantime in Maniago was born a network of companies called MIKITA (Maniago Innovation Knives ITALY) composed by 4 of the most important Maniago knife manufacturers that are FOX KNIVES, LIONSTEEL, MERCURY and VIPER, these companies together have more than 200 years in the production of knives.

This network is something really unique in the cutlery industry, four big companies working together, sharing business promotion, production and marketing. The goal is to present this network as a consolidated and structured reality on a dimensional level without compromising the craft skills.
The share purposes are to consolidate and strenghten the commercial propensity on foreign markets, developing new products with benefit of a short supply chain and sinergy in projecting and prototyping phases for creating economies of scales.
This collaboration will also increase the efficiency of plants and strenghten the sales network.
The first collection of knives built by companies included in the MIKITA network under the MKM brand is composed by 5 models, 4 folding knives and 1 fixed blade knife. Considering the goal of creating high end knives MKM decided to use very high quality materials.
For this first project MKM decided to cooperate with two of the top designers in the industry, Mr. Bob Terzuola and Mr. Lucas Burnley.
Since they decided to connect the MKM brand to the mountains they decided to name the knives with names of local mountains or famous spots located on them.
All these knives have two brands marked on them, the MKM and the brand of the company that made the most of the process on the single knife, always considering that the production process on these knives has been shared between the 4 companies included in MIKITA network.
The first batch of knives will be available on the market on October 2018.

Обалденные ножи! Все производители классные, с Mercury только не сталкивался еще. Raut от Viper нужно будет купить точно.

С Mercury уже пару лет сталкиваюсь.. Там очень скромный владелец :) И есть отличный потенциал.
